P.A.S.T. Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can paranormal activity be associated with people or certain objects?

    A. I believe they can, there are numerous cases where someone has moved from a
location to another and reported the same paranormal activity in the new location.  The
same thing with objects. A recent client told me that a certain object that was left behind
by a previous roommate seemed to move about on it's own. We are currently
investigating the possibility that most of the phenomenon experienced in the home may
have been linked to the previous roommate.

Q. I think my house is haunted.  Would researching the history of my property explain
what is going on in my home?

   A. Let me answer this one carefully. First of all, before you begin the task of
investigating the background of your home, you'll need to keep in mind that although the
information will be more than helpful, it could also bring you to conclusions about the
goings on in your home. You'll need to keep an open mind. For example: if you were to
find out that someone was murdered in your home, it doesn't necessarily mean the
strange noises you hear are a result of the murder victims tortured spirit. I have seen this
happen too many times. You'll need good evidence from a reputable investigation team to
validate the activity and make any links to the historical information of your property.

Q. Are orbs spirits?

    A. Since everyone is talking about the Orb controversy this question gets asked often.
And, since no one can claim to be experts, it depends on who you ask. This is my opinion
on the subject. I used to be one of those people who was fascinated by the phenomenon.
But, over time I began to change my thinking. After carefully scrutinizing photo evidence it
became apparent that almost all of the orbs caught on film could be explained as: dust
particles, insects, pollen, water droplets, flash reflection, and problems with using a
low-end digital camera.  It is widely believed that a true orb should be able to be viewed by
the naked eye. But, even then it could be caused by other than paranormal activity.
Swamp gases and ball lightning could explain a good portion of these sightings. So, you
see there is no easy answer to that question. Could it be spirits?, sure, if all other
explanations have been addressed, but, even then its not likely to be so.

Q. How come I can,t see ghost when other people in the room with me can?

   A.  Don't feel bad neither can I.  Seriously, there are several explanations for this. There
are people who seem to be more sensitive then others, they are able to not only see
apparitions but are also able to feel certain things when non-sensitives can't.  I just
happen to be a non-sensitive. Another explanation is that they are overly imaginative, or
just plain lier's. Ghost researches have developed methods to help determine which is
which. We use interviews and even study body language of a witness to see if they could
be manufacturing a ghost sighting.  I am not saying that we can tell definitely whether
someone is lying, but, we can tell if there may be cause to look into the account with more
than average skepticism.  There is also the possibility that you may not have been looking
at the same place at the same time and missed the action. For example: 4 researchers are
all in the same room, in a matter of  seconds one of them claim to have seen an apparition
walking down the stairs. By the time the others looked at the stairs it was gone. The truth
is most encounters only last seconds or minutes.

Q. What made you get into ghost hunting?

     A.  My fascination with ghosts go way back. I grew up in Hawaii  with all of its legends
and myths. As a child and later teen, I experienced things that could not be explained. As
a result,  I grew up and became more and more curious of the paranormal.  Just like most
folks, I wanted to know what happens after we leave this world. I began talking to people
and found out that there are many who where fearful or curious of what was happening in
their homes. And then it happened, quite a few years ago, way before "TAPS", I was
watching television and saw a paranormal investigator using some sort of recorder trying
to capture voices from beyond. At that moment, I was hooked. Ever since then I have been
studying everything I could about investigating the paranormal. The extra bonus comes
from the fact that I can help people in the process.

Q. Can ghost hunting be dangerous?

     A. The answer is "YES".  This is why I can't tell you how important it is to have the facts
and be prepared. Every reputable group have guidelines in place for their investigation
team. Below are a few of them and what they are designed to protect us from.

             1) Never trespass.

This one is easy, you could get arrested or worse killed. There have been
instances that someone was mistaken for a burglar.

2) Always investigate with another investigator.

In case something happens you will have someone there to help you. Such as fallen
objects, malicious spirits, or injuries and illness. You will also need a this person to
                      validate the evidence.

3) We don't dabble in the occult or use Ouija boards.

Simple, you don't want to open yourself up for a negative entity to attach themselves
to you or the group or worse yet the clients property. Even if you already have proof of
something going on it is wise to stay away from this type of activity. Even if it is
believed that communicating with spirit in general could do this, I personally have
experienced negative results from the Ouija board while a teenager and don't care to
                      do this again.

 4) Say a protection prayer before and after an investigation.

This is done to protect us from negative energy. Below is an example of the prayer
we use and one that is not based on any particular faith. Many ghost hunters use
                      these particular ones.

Opening Prayer:
Saint Michael the Opening Prayer:
Saint Michael the Archangel, Defend us in battle
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the Devil
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray
And do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
By the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits
Who wander through the world for the ruin of souls.
Amen

Closing prayer:
"In the name of Jesus Christ, I command all human spirits to be bound to
the confines of the cemetery. I command all inhuman spirits to go where Jesus
Christ tells you to go, for it is He who commands you." Amen

Non-Faith Based Blessing
"As we enter this place where impressions of the past are trapped and associations linger, let
us do so with the assurance that we are guarded by the Power which proceeds from
forthright and peaceful intent. We envision a white radiance encircling us, fortifying us and
protecting us from any harm or distraction in our purpose this day."
